The President of Romania, Traian Basescu , received today, January 10th, at Cotroceni Palace, Robert Wexler, the member of the House of Representatives within the Congress of the United States of America.
Robert Wexler is also member of the International Relation s Committee, in double quality of Democrat co-chairman of the Europe and Emerging Threats Subcommittee, and member of the Judiciary Committee. Mister Wexler is also part of the delegation of the House of Representatives to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
Among the main topics of discussion between the head of state and the representative of the US Congress there were aspects regarding the bilateral relation between Romania and the United States , as well as the cooperation at a multilateral level. To this purpose, the military cooperation on the theaters of operation in the fight against terrorism, including the Romanian-American cooperation inside NATO, the role of Romania in the Black Sea area and inside the European Union, as well as the matter of international adoptions were dealt with.
