President Basescu and Vice-president Shigeo Katsu have discussed the support that the World Bank can grant to Romania in fighting the consequences of the recent floods. President Basescu also suggested the relocation, as far as possible, of funds for emergency support for projects aiming at the rehabilitation of affected areas.
President Basescu and the Vice-president of the World Bank have also analyzed the status of preparations for launching rural development projects aiming at establishing processing units for agricultural products in the rural areas.
They have, as well, emphasized the need for the World Bank to support Romania in its European accession process, through the expertise that the organization holds.
