Secretary of State and head of the Department for Euro-Atlantic Integration and Defence Policy with Romania's Ministry of National Defence (MApN) George Cristian Maior is paying a visit to the United States at the invitation of the National Defence University (NDU) chairman Lieutenant General Michael M. Dunn. George Cristian Maior will meet with members of the NDU Senate and will hold talks with General Lieutenant Michael M. Dunn, an opportunity to identify the cooperation possibilities with the prestigious US institution. The visit's programme also schedules appointments with the dignitaries of the State Department and the Department of Defense, representatives of the Force Transformation Office, as well as with other personalilties of the US political, military and academic milieu. The official agenda includes topics referring to the assessment of the bilateral military relations, the army's reform process, aspects of the NATO summit in Istanbul, the developments and the prospects of the international security milieu emphasizing the developments in the crisis areas and Romania's participation in peace, reconstruction and stabilization missions.
