ASSESSMENT
by the Government of Romania
of the negative consequences of the floods and mud sliding occurred
in
July 1-17, 2005

 

 

As a result of the heavy rainfalls occurred in Romania, in July 1-17 2005, 24 people have lost their lives – 15 in the Vrancea county, 4 in Bacau county, 2 in Teleorman county, and one casualty in Alba, Constanta and Galati counties, respectively.

 

Over 800 towns, in 32 Romanian counties, have sustained considerable damages to their infrastructures, the agricultural network, households, Bacau, Braila, Galati, Olt, Teleorman and Vrancea being the heaviest hit counties.
