The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Mihai – Razvan Ungureanu , went on an official visit in Brussels on February 2 nd , 2005 , where he participated at the reunion of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the European Parliament.

The agenda of the visit included meetings with the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Olli Rehn , the EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy , Javier Solana and the Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighborhood Policy , Benita Fererro Waldner .

The European Commissioner for Enlargement, Olli Rehn reconfirmed the support of the European Commission for Romania 's integration of into the EU by January 1st, 2007 .

During the meetings with the European officials, there were also presented the foreign policy priorities of the Romanian Government: insuring the stability and prosperity of the eastern neighborhood of the EU (including the greater Black Sea area) the perspective of European integration of the West Balkans and the transatlantic relation, with the main goal of a substantial contribution to the EU global role.
