On Thursday,
April 30, 2009, “The Romanian-American Strategic Partnership
Forum” (RASPF) took place in the financial district of New York
City, organized by the MIC & Associates Company.
The Forum had
the purpose to address different aspects of the national
security and defense concept, business opportunities in
infrastructure and renewable energy and the way in which
companies can cope with the current economic crisis.
The Romanian
representation to the Forum included general Constantin Degeratu,
state counselor on national security at the Presidential
Administration, Oana Petrescu, vice-president of the Romanian
Commercial Bank, Ioan Rusu, Director General of Transgaz
Company, Aurel Cazacu, director of defense production in the
Ministry of Economics, Adrian Cosmin Vierita, Ambassador of
Romania to Washington, Pietro Pavoni, Consul General of Romania
in New York. Leaders of American companies in the
above-mentioned fields, already involved in Romania (Raytheon,
ITT, VSE etc), participated in the Forum.
Rudolph
Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, and Robert Engle,
university professor, Nobel Laureate in Economics were invited
as honorable guests to the event.
The Forum was
also attended by companies specialized in worldwide
infrastructure programs (the Dynamic Group and Atkins), as well
as representatives of the Romanian-American Commerce Chamber.
In the period of
the Forum, on Saturday, May 2, 2009, the MIC & Associates
Company together with Ziua USA weekly organized the 10th
edition of the Romania Day Festival on Broadway. |
