Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu met Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher
 

 

Prime Minister Calin Popescu – Tariceanu has met with Mrs. Ellen Tauscher, member of the US Congress on the sidelines of his participation in the “Bucharest Conference” Transatlantic Forum.
On this meeting, Prime Minister has expressed his appreciation for the constant support the United States has extended to Romania and has emphasized the excellent bilateral relations.
PM Tariceanu has given assurances that Romania is determined to play an important role in the stability in the region. From this view, Prime Minister has showed that Romania considers the NATO enlargement with Western Balkans countries as beneficial for the region.
On this meeting, Prime Minister has raised the issue of Romania’s inclusion in Visa Waiver Program. The excellent bilateral relations with the United States, the cooperation at political, economic, military level are arguments in favor of Romania’s inclusion in Visa Waiver Program.
Mrs. Ellen Tauscher has voiced her support for Romania’ steps towards inclusion in the Visa Waiver Program. Other topic point on the discussions pertained to energy security. In this context, Mrs. Ellen Tauscher has appreciated the fact that Romania joined the international efforts on the diminution of the climate changes’ effects.
