Professor Vladimir Tismaneanu Chairman of the Presidential Commission for the Analysis of the Communist Dictatorship in Romania, and Charles King, Professor of International Affairs and Government at the Georgetown University discussed the conclusions of the Final Report of the Presidential Commission for the Analysis of the Communist Dictatorship in Romania, in a conference titled “Romania Confronts its Communist Past” and organized on April 23, by the Embassy of Romania in Washington DC.

In the beginning of the conference, Romanian Ambassador Adrian Vierita underlined the importance of the Final Report, a pioneering and path-breaking work, which symbolizes an official and irreversible departure from the totalitarian legacy of the communist regime.

The conference included an active Q and A session and was followed by a reception offered by the Embassy of Romania.
