Headline: Meeting with Mr. Ferdinando Beccalli, President and CEO of the General Electric Company

On today's meeting with Mr. Ferdinando Beccalli – Falco, President of General Electric (GE) International, Prime Minister Calin Popescu – Tariceanu has emphasized the opportunity for this company to participate in the privatization of Electroputere Craiova.

 

On this meeting, the GE President, Mr. Ferdinando Beccalli – Falco has showed that the company he is running takes interest not only in the privatization of Electroputere Craiova but also in the opportunity for it to participate in the programme of improving Romania 's locomotives park.

Prime Minister Calin Popescu – Tariceanu and the GE President have discussed about the economic situation at European level and Romania 's development potential as EU member state. In this context, there has been tackled the GE strategic investment Programme for Romania .

The GE President, Mr. Ferdinando Beccalli – Falco stated that Romania was included in the annual programme “Education and Training”, financed by his company. Thus, as of 2007, the GE will train 50 Romanian youngsters in the business management field.

Mr. Ferdinando Beccalli – Falco has added that this is not the only social contribution GE makes in Romania . He has offered to Prime Minister Calin Popescu – Tariceanu the honor key of the Hostel for children with disabilities, built in Brasov with company funds, and which will host 33 children with disabilities in the 3 and 17 age range.

Mr. Dan Ionescu, GE Director for Romania and Eastern Europe has attended Prime Minister's meeting with the GE President.
