Ambassador of Romania Sorin Ducaru visits Cleveland
Ambassador of Romania , Sorin Ducaru, paid a visit to Cleveland between April 7th-8 th , 2005, at the invitation of the International Community Center , the Honorary Consulate of Romania in Cleveland and the World Trade Center Cleveland.
On this occasion, the Romanian Ambassador to Washington DC participated as the main speaker in the “Know Your World: Romania”, an event organized by the International Community Council in Cleveland in order to increase the general knowledge about Romania among people in the State of Ohio.
On April 8 th , Ambassador Ducaru took part at the economic seminar dedicated to the promotion of Romanian-American business opportunities, organized by the World Trade Center Cleveland and Romanian American Chamber of Commerce. He also met Ms. Jane Campbell, the Mayor of Cleveland – Sister City for the Romanian city of Brasov .
The program of the trip also included a meeting with leaders of the Romanian American community in Cleveland , and visits the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and the Cleveland State University , two well known institutions that develop cooperation projects with Romanian partners.
Ambassador Ducaru had meetings with leaders of the Washington Group International and Timken, American companies with successful business in Romania , and gave interviews at the WCPN radio station and Plain Dealer, the largest Ohio newspaper.
