The Ambassador of Romania to Washington, Mr. Sorin Ducaru attended at the dedication ceremony of the William J. Clinton Presidential Center

The Ambassador of Romania to Washington, Mr. Sorin Ducaru attended, on November 18 th , along with his wife Carmen, at the invitation of former American president William J. Clinton, the dedication ceremony of the William J. Clinton Presidential Center that took place in Little Rock , Arkansas .

On this occasion, the Ambassador of Romania in Washington had a meeting with former president Bill Clinton and his wife, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, and also met the American President George W. Bush and the first lady, Laura Bush, former Presidents George H. W. Bush and his wife Barbara and Jimmy Carter with his wife Rosalyn.

On the occasion of the event in Little Rock, Romanian ambassador handed to former President Clinton congratulation letters from the President of Romania, Mr. Ion Iliescu and the Prime Minister of Romania, Mr. Adrian Nastase ( texts of the letters are available on the Embassy of Romania to Washington, DC website ).

The Ambassador of Romania in Washington addressed to the former American President a message of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Mr. Mircea Geoana. A former Ambassador of Romania in Washington during President Clinton's mandate, Geoana had a good relationship with the Clinton administration.

Former President Clinton and President George W. Bush remembered with great pleasure the official visits in Romania and praised the evolutions in Romania and the Strategic Partnership with Romania that developed a strategic relation which has a special significance in the context of Romania's new status of US ally.

Ambassador Ducaru also had a meeting with General Wesley Clark who also remembered the special relation with Romania during his tenure as a NATO Supreme Allied Commander and Commander in Chief of the United States European Command. General Clark also showed his interest in cooperating with Romania for organizing training seminars on fighting terrorism for young leaders in NATO countries and the interest in opening Romania for a regional business center.
