KABUL, Afghanistan -- Romanian Defence Minister Teodor Atanasiu said on Wednesday (28 September) that Bucharest would continue to provide military assistance to Afghanistan and would keep its troops there for as long as they are needed to train the new Afghan Army. At a joint press conference with Afghan counterpart General Abdul Rahim Wardak , Atanasiu said that Romanian soldiers will take part in rebuilding projects and that Bucharest will provide military equipment to the Afghan Defence Ministry. He also visited Romanian troops serving in the international peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan . ( Asia Pulse - 28/09/05 )
