Romania : World Bank Sees Improvement in Romanian Business Climate

The World Bank put Romania on the 78th place among the 155 countries examined from the viewpoint of the business climate and of the creation of jobs, ahead of Greece and Croatia , Florin Ioan Rosu adviser to vice-premier Gheorghe Copos stated, ACT Media news agency reports.


On the occasion of the release of the PHARE programme for SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) called ''Support services for business development,'' the report said Romania is among performers concerning the improvement in the business climate.

On the basis of the ten criteria, for the reforms recently initiated, Romania is among the first 12 countries, initiators of reform in this field, as well as when it comes to employment.

The improvement in the business climate in Romania entails the implementation of measures designed to streamline the companies' registration through e-mail, promotion of the law on employers' associations, of the law on the economic and social council, initiation of the law on contracts.
