President Basescu approved the sending of additional troops in Iraq and Bosnia
Bucharest – President Traian Basescu approved the decision of the Superior Council of National Security to send additional 100 infantries in Iraq, stated on Monday, January 17th, the spokesperson of the Presidential Administration, Adriana Saftoiu.
Saftoiu mentioned that the decision was taken at the request of the United Nations and the United States and that the 100 infantries will take part in UN missions.
The President of Romania also approved the withdrawl of a 45 militaries engineer unit from the Althea mission in Bosnia Hertzegovina and the sending of reconesseurs and EOD teams in, added Adriana Saftoiu.
