WASHINGTON (AFP) - US President George W. Bush ( news - web sites ) will welcome Romanian Prime Minister Adrian Nastase on July 21 for talks on Afghanistan ( news - web sites ) and Iraq ( news - web sites ), White House spokesman Scott McClellan said in a statement.
Bush and Nastase will discuss "the war on terrorism, Afghanistan and Iraq, NATO ( news - web sites )'s agenda following the Istanbul Summit, and international efforts to support reform in the broader Middle East," he said.
"The president looks forward to discussing UN issues with the Prime Minister, given Romania's presidency of the UN Security Council this month. The two leaders will also review Romania's continuing political and economic reforms," said McClellan.
Romania has some 730 soldiers stationed in Iraq.
