Special concert dedicated to the memory of George Enescu

Romanian Ambassador Sorin Ducaru hosted at the Residence on 30th street a special concert dedicated to the memory of George Enescu, organized by the George Enescu Society of the United States.
The concert featured music by George Enescu, Gabriel Faure and Johannes Brahms, in the interpretation of very talented young musicians, violinist Diana Pepelea, pianist Matei Varga and violist Michael Stepniak and with the special participation of well known pianist Lorry Wallfisch

A very special ROMANIAN EVENING:

The Embassy of Romania to Washington DC organized a Cultural Romanian Evening featuring a pan-flute recital with musician and composer Nicolae Voiculet and the opening of the exhibition of traditional Romanian religious paintings by artist Ioana Deac. Ambassador Sorin Ducaru welcomed, on this occasion, the presence of the Deputy National Security Advisor to the President and former ambassador to Romania, Jack Dyer Crouch II and his wife Christine, as well as Mrs. Sheilah Kast Rosapeppe, the president of the Congress of Romanian – Americans, Armand Scala, professor Eliot Sorel, father Calciu, from the Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church in Alexandria, as well as representatives of the American Administration, the diplomatic community, the Romanian community in Washington D.C. area and mass-media representatives

The George Enescu International Festival 2005

The 2005 edition of the George Enescu Festival and International Competition will take place on September 4th – 11th 2005, in Bucharest.
The George Enescu International Festival 2005 opens its 7th year, commemorating 50 years since the death of the great Romanian composer, under the aegis of the Romanian Ministry of Culture and Religious Affaires. The events dedicated to the George Enescu International Year will consist of activities and performances taking place both in Romania and abroad.
