The opening of the painting exhibition Synagogues in Romania took place at the Romanian Embassy on October 20th, under the auspices of the Romanian Embassy and B'nai B'rith International and marking the observance of Holocaust Memorial Day in Romania.
The Ambassador of Romania to Washington D.C. Sorin Ducaru and Executive Vice President of B'nai B'rith International, Daniel Mariaschin, welcomed the guests and delivered speeches on the significance on Holocaust Commemoration Day in Romania.
Representatives of the Jewish and Romanian community in Washington D.C., as well as academic personalities, think-thank representatives and mass-media attended the event.
Artist George Parascan, the author of "Synagogues in Romania" presented his exhibition and its source of inspiration and offered two of the original paintings to the Ambassador of Romania and the Executive Vice President of B'nai Brith, in appreciation for their support to promoting the art of painting.
The exhibition will be open for visitors at the Embassy of Romania on
October 21st - 27th, every week day from 9:00 to 5:30.
