A very special ROMANIAN EVENING:

On June 22nd, 2005, the Embassy of Romania to Washington DC organized a Cultural Romanian Evening featuring a pan-flute recital with musician and composer Nicolae Voiculet and the opening of the exhibition of traditional Romanian religious paintings by artist Ioana Deac. Ambassador Sorin Ducaru welcomed, on this occasion, the presence of the Deputy National Security Advisor to the President and former ambassador to Romania, Jack Dyer Crouch II and his wife Christine, as well as Mrs. Sheilah Kast Rosapeppe, the president of the Congress of Romanian – Americans, Armand Scala, professor Eliot Sorel, father Calciu, from the Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church in Alexandria, as well as representatives of the American Administration, the diplomatic community, the Romanian community in Washington D.C. area and mass-media representatives.
The guests had the opportunity to listen to Romanian traditional songs in the interpretation of maestro Nicolae Voiculet and view the impressive icons on wood and glass and other religious paintings in aquarelles presented by artist Ioana Deac.
A light reception followed the recital and the exhibition presentation.
