Awarded Romanian Film Directors Mungiu and Mitulescu attend the 2007 European Union Film Showcase in
Washington DC November 1 – 20, 2007
For the first time in the European Union Film Showcase, two movies were selected to represent Romania : Palme D'Or awarded “4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days” by Cristian Mugiu and “Un Certain Regard” awarded “The Way I Spent the End of the World” by Catalin Mitulescu.
On this occasion Cristian Mungiu and Catalin Mitulescu, as well as leading actress from “The Way I Spent the End of the World” Dorotheea Petre will attend the screenings at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center .
The program of the screenings is as follows:
November 7 th , 7:00 pm – first screening of “4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days” followed by Q&A session with director Cristian Mungiu; followed by a Meet the Artist Reception
November 8 th , 9:30 pm – second screening of “4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days”
November 10 th , 5:20 pm – first screening of “The Way I Spent the End of the World” followed by Q&A session with director Catalin Mitulescu and leading actress Dorotheea Petre; followed by a Meet the Artist Reception
November 11 th , 5:30 pm – second screening of “The Way I Spent the End of the World” followed by Q&A session with director Catalin Mitulescu and leading actress Dorotheea Petre.
The participation of the Romanian artists to the Festival was made possible with the support of the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York .
