Romanian Festival in Washington DC

On May 20 th , 2007 Romanian Charge D'Affaires a.i . Daniela Gitman attended the Romanian Festival organized by the Holly Cross Romanian Orthodox Church and the Romanian community in the DC area. The event took place at the Carderock Park and featured Romanian folk music concerts with artists Ducu Bertzi and Florian Pittis who especially traveled from Bucharest for this performance, as well as local artists Mioara Pitulice , and dancing performances with ensembles Ardeleana and Ciprian Porumbescu .

Over 500 guests enjoyed the Romanian traditional food: mititei , sarmale and other hors d'oeuvres while sports fans had the opportunity to meet and get autographs from Romanian former basketball player Ghita Muresan and gymnast Aurelia Dobre .
