Klavier Trio Amsterdam
Inspired by their love for the chamber music repertoire violinist Joan Berkhemer , pianist Klara Würtz and cellist Nadia David join their musical abilities and formed the Klavier Trio Amsterdam in 1990.
The trio soon started its' career with a concert in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw.
- In 1992 they were invited for a two-month tour through Israel .
They performed in most important cities and halls in the country, were special guests at the Jaffa Chamber Music Festival and made recordings for the YMCA.
- In 1993 the trio was performing during a festival in Rome .
- In 1994 they successfully toured Germany . Ever since, they have been invited to play there every year.
- In 1996 an invitation by the Dutch Embassy to play in honor of the Dutch Prime minister's state visit to Israel .
More invitations by Dutch Embassies (in Washington DC , London ) allowed the trio to get acquainted with a diversity of stages abroad.
- In 1997 and 1998 they were guests at the " Festung Konzerten " in Salzburg .
- In the summer of 1999 the trio was invited for several concerts in Athens , Greece .
In the same year a tour in Colombia , South America followed.
- In April 2000 Erasmus has released their CD of the two Mendelssohn piano trios. This CD was acclaimed by the New York critic Harris Goldsmith in the International Record Review as "t he best CD of the year 2000 ". It was also extremely well received by the press, radio and television in their own country.
Dutch national radio acclaimed (named) their Mendelssohn CD as the CD of the week, playing it everyday.
- In the summer of 2001 they were guests at the Chamber Music Festival in Dinant ( France ).
Since 2005 they have been regular guests of the Corcoran Chamber music series , one of the most prestigious chamber music venues in Washington , DC featuring the Takacs , Alexander , Tokyo , Ying Quartets, as well as the Walerstein and Peabody Trios . They have performed with Roger Tapping, former violist of the Takacs Quartet and other great guest artists.
Their concert last year at the French Embassy in Washington , DC was called by Cecilia Porter from the Washington Post “The most beautiful chamber music concert of the season ”
- Among some of the projects of the following season are: concerts in Amsterdam Concertgebouw, and new recordings (Schubert piano trios, Russian composers).
