The Embassy of Romania in Washington DC organized Thursday, January 25, 2007 a special event in cooperation with the Smithsonisn Associates, an event dedicated to two of the greatest Romanian artists, sculptor Constantin Brancusi and poet Mihai Eminescu .
The event included the lecture “ Constantin Brancusi : A Romanian Abroad” presented by Romanian art critic Mariana Carpinisan as well as a poetry reading by Romanian Eminescu's translator Adrian Sahlean , author of the volume “Mihai Eminescu Eternal Longing, Impossible Love”. Over 150 guests attended the event at the Embassy, members of the Smithsonian Associates programs, representatives of the academic and artictic milieu in the DC area and press. Guests enjoyed Romanian hospitality and tradition durin the reception in the end of the program, where they could taste traditional food and Romanian wines. |
