On November 25 - December 1, a team of experts with the Romanian Ministries of Environment and Agriculture, led by Mrs Sulfina Barbu, Minister of Environment and Water Management, are traveling to the US in order to participate in a study tour organized by USAID, US Department of Agriculture (USDA), US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Chemonics International. This tour will allow Romanian officials and US experts to participate in an exchange of information and best practices concerning flood management and recent experiences in Romania and US, disaster response, water resource management challenges and approaches, coastal and river basin management, wetlands restoration.
In DC, the delegation will meet with high level US officials with the Environmental Protection Agency, USDA and USACE; afterwards, they travel to Mississippi, where are scheduled to meet with the leadership of the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center and CLEAR center of Louisiana State University.
