Ambassador Ducaru visits Phoenix, Arizona

Romanian Ambassador Sorin Ducaru traveled to Phoenix , Arizona from April 6 to April 10, 2006. During the trip, ambassador Ducaru met with the leadership of Arizona State University (ASU) which hosts the largest Romanian Studies Program,discussed business opportunities in Romania with the members of the Rotary 100 at the Phoenix Country Club, and participated at the opening of the Happy Valley Romanian Pentecostal Church

Ambassador Ducaru's trip to Phoenix provided an opportunity to meet with the Romanian community and to develop the network between Arizona and Romania.

The Romanian Ambassador visited the Romanian Program at ASU, directed by professor Ileana Orlich, met with Prof. Debby Losse, Dean of the Humanities , Professor Joe Cutter, Chair, Department of Language and Literature, visited the Romanian language course, and spoke to ASU students and professors about the strategic partnership between Romania and the United States.

On Friday, April 7 ambassador Ducaru addressed the Rotary 100 at the Phoenix Country Club and participated at the reception with the Romanian community and ASU faculty and students hosted by Donna and Marin Holbura.

On Sunday, April 9, the Romanian Ambassador participated at the opening of the Happy Valley Romanian Pentecostal Church and later attended the service at Sf. Ioan Botezatorul Romanian Orthodox Church in Glendale, Arizona.
