Diplomatic Pouch - June 1, 2006: Romania Organizes First Black Sea Forum

The aim of the Black Sea Forum is to create a non-institutionalized and flexible platform for engagement with and within the region, in order to forge a regional vision and a common mind-set and to enhance synergy among existing structures, based on that common vision. The ultimate aim of the process is to transform the entire region into an area of secure sovereign countries, sharing viable market economies, enjoying open and responsive systems of government, and to maintain strong links and interdependencies with the international community, with the prospect of further extending and consolidating the area of freedom, security and stability on the shores of the Black Sea and beyond.

The Black Sea Forum first summit is going to take place on the 5th of June 2006 , in order to increase visibility of the initiative. It will bring together presidents and heads of government of countries in the region, foreign ministers and senior officials from EU and NATO countries, representatives of EU, NATO, OSCE, Council of Europe, BSEC, UN institutions, as well as think tankers and civil society representatives from the region, Western Europe and North America.

Media Accreditation    

The completed Media Accreditation Form together with a digital photograph of the media representatives in .jpg format must be e-mailed to the Communication Department until Monday, May 29th, 2006 . Accreditation forms without a photograph of the person concerned will NOT be processed . The .jpg file with the photograph must use the naming protocol as follows:
first name_last name.jpg.
