The Ambassador of Romania to Washington DC, Sorin Ducaru received the "Certificates of Appreciation" from the Eurasia Center as a symbol of international friendship and gratitude from the American people, for the assistance offered by Romania to the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
The Eurasia Center hosted AMERICA'S TRIBUTE TO INTERNATIONAL ASSISTANCE FOR VICTIMS OF HURRICANES KATRINA AND RITA occasion on which representative of the European and Asian countries were thanked for donating medical, food, housing, and financial assistance to the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
With 17 years of close working relationships with Eurasian nations, the 'Executive Committee' and members of The Eurasia Center believed such generous support and humanitarian assistance should be honored.
The Eurasia Center was originally incorporated as the Center for American-Eurasian Studies and Relations in 1988. It has been an important hub of activity and meetings in Washington, D.C., for officials, diplomats, business people, scholars, and citizens to promote the ideals of peace, democracy, economic cooperation, and security for 17 years. The organization continues to promote positive relations between the United States and Eurasia through nine progressive programs and initiatives.
