Romanian Ambassador Sorin Ducaru visited Oklahoma City
Romanian Ambassador Sorin Ducaru paid a visit to Oklahoma City on June 4-6, 2005, as a part of the International Ambassadors’ week-end in Oklahoma City, at the invitation of Congressman Ernest J. Istook, JR., Governor Brad Henry and the state and local chambers of commerce.
During his visit, Ambassador Ducaru met with Congressman Istook and visited the Oklahoma State Capitol, the National Western Heritage Center, the State Fairgrounds.
The Romanian Ambassador also attended an Air Traffic Controller Simulation Presentation at the Federal Aviation Administration in Oklahoma and visited the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, where he met President Donald Capra, as well as the Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center and the National Weather Center.
On the occasion of the visit, Ambassador Ducaru also met with Romanian former gymnast Nadia Comaneci and her husband, former gymnast Bart Conner and visited the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame. Also, as part of the visit, the Romanian Ambassador paid a visit to the Gymnastics Academy that Ms. Comaneci and her husband run.
