President of Romania Traian Basescu awarded Romanian born Professor Liviu Librescu with the National Order “Star of Romania ”

President of Romania Traian Basescu signed today, April 18, the decree for awarding post-mortem Professor Dr. Liviu Librescu with the National Order “Star of Romania ” in rank of Great Cross. The National Order “Star of Romania ” was awarded in sign of high appreciation for the entire scientific and academic activity, as well as for the heroic gesture during the tragic events on April 16, at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University campus, when Professor Liviu Librescu sacrificed his life for saving his students.
